ACL is located on the central California coast. Our two primary meeting locations, Manzanita Charter School and the old Maple High School, are located on Vandenberg AFB property near the main gate. They are both in "public access" areas of the base and you don't have to go through any security gates or have passes to get there.

Vandenberg AFB is located just a few minutes away from Lompoc, CA, and Santa Maria, CA. VAFB is about a 45 minute drive from either Santa Barbara (south) and San Luis Obispo (north).

If you

  • have an interest in astronomy

  • have any questions about astronomy

  • are passing though the area

  • are visiting Vandenberg AFB

  • are thinking about buying a telescope for your children, or grandkids

  • just want to look through a telescope

then please join us at one of our club meetings or star parties. Our meetings, and star parties, are open to the public and visitors are always welcome.

If you would like to attend a star party but don't have a telescope, don't worry. Our members will gladly let you look through their telescopes.

ACL Visitors Center

There are two other astronomy clubs in the area. Links are provided below for your convenience. If you can't make it to one of our events, maybe you can make it to one of theirs.

Other Clubs in the Area

If you have any questions about ACL, or one of our events, please don't hesitate to contact the club.
