ACL is your local astronomy club if you live in or near California's Santa
Barbara County communities of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Vandenberg Village,
Lompoc, Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, and maybe even Buellton, Solvang,
Santa Ynez, Ballard, Los Olivos, Los Alamos, etc.
Visitors are Welcome! If you are passing through our area, have an interest
in astronomy, have some questions about our group or astronomy, or just want to look
through a telescope, please join us at one of our club meetings or star parties.

- Club Meetings: ACL meets once a month and visitors are welcome
Meetings are held on the second Friday of the month, starting at 7:00PM,
in the teachers lounge of the Manzanita Charter School.

- Star Parties: Star parties are an informal gathering where
club members bring their telescopes and meet to observe interesting
objects (planets, the moon, nebulas, galaxies, etc.) in the night sky.
Vistors are welcome to attend. If you don't have a telescope,
no problem, our members will gladly let you look through their

Note: Star parties are "weather permitting" and the number of club
members attending can vary a great deal due to a variety of reasons.
We can't guarantee you will find anyone there even if it's on our calendar.
If you are participating for the first time, it is best to coordinate
with a club member that is going.
- Other Events: If your group, school, or company, is intertested in
astronomy and would like ACL to do a presentation, or demonstration,
please let us know. We call this "Public Outreach" and are happy
to share what we know with the community.
